What is the difference between a Private Tour and a Custom Tour?

By definition, a custom tour is a private tour—but with a twist. Instead of simply closing one of our regular itineraries for your group, we tailor the experience to suit your preferences. Whether it’s upgrading hotel categories, emphasizing food and wine, adjusting hike difficulty, or extending the tour length, we’re here to make it yours.

Over the years, we’ve created countless custom tours, often using one of our existing itineraries as a starting point. But we also love a challenge! A two-week adventure blending our classic Sicily Hiking Tour with three nights in Palermo, two in Cefalù, three on the island of Lipari, and a thrilling summit of Stromboli volcano.

Amalfi Coast Hike with Luxury Upgrades
This was a breeze—our clients requested an upgrade to sumptuous five-star hotels and two dreamy nights on Capri. Four spectacular hotels later, everyone was happy (and well-pampered).

Tuscany Villa Stay for Wine Lovers
For a group of friends passionate about wine, we swapped hotels for a week-long stay in a beautiful five-bedroom villa just outside our home village of Gaiole in Chianti. Days were spent hiking and visiting wineries, while evenings were filled with catered dinners and hand-selected local wines.

This brand-new itinerary was crafted for a family who had done all of our other boat-based tours. They loved the combination of hiking, swimming, and relaxing on a gulet so much that we gladly created this new adventure just for them.
